How Does a Grooved Butterfly Valve Work?
The valve operates through a 90-degree quarter-turn mechanism.
When the disc rotates to the open position, fluid can pass through the valve with relatively low flow resistance. Rotating the disc toward the closed position gradually restricts the flow until the resilient seat contacts the disc and provides shut-off.
The grooved connection remains fixed to the pipeline while the valve can be operated through a handle, gearbox, electric actuator, or pneumatic actuator depending on the configuration.
